KILFORD: THE MUSIC PAINTER
For the third year running guests at The Sunflower Jam 2008 were able to see the art world's very own rock n roll star, Kilford, create his unique music painting alongside the bands. This year he painted during the performance of Deep Purple and Bruce Dickinson to raise money for The Sam Buxton Sunflower Healing Trust.
Kilford sees colours when he hears music and paints in two ways, either live alongside musicians during their live performances or on commission in his studio where he paints and sketches individual tracks.
The star of the auction on the night was Kilford's donated painting of the song Hush, his favorite Deep Purple song which was sold by Lord Mark Poltimore, UK chairman of Sotheby's.

Objects
‘The objects of the charity are to promote public health by the provision or assistance in the provision of Spiritual Healing and Reiki as complementary therapies in particular but not exclusively within the National Health Service”
This charity has been created as a living tribute to my son Sam who passed away on 5 August 1998 aged 10 from cancer.
Sam’s life was 3 years longer than his initial diagnosis suggested, and we would like others to have the opportunity to share those extra magic moments with their loved ones as we did with Sam.
During the years that Sam was ill the most supportive therapy we as a family used was healing. The therapy of healing initially supported Sam through chemotherapy, allowing him to be himself despite the gruelling regimes he went through to rid his body of leukaemia. After a bone marrow transplant and subsequent relapse Sam continiued to live a happy and vibrant life .
‘Sam lived until the moment he died he was never a child dying with leukaemia’.
Our aim now is to make funds available to NHS trusts and cancer centres to provide therapists to work alongside conventional medicine as we do at University College Hospital London. We believe that this is the face of integrated medicine of the future for cancer patients.
